Psychology and coaching complement each other. Coaching without using psychology may not be as effective as using it with.
Practitioners of psychology and life coaches may differ. As I see it, psychologists deals with the inner self of a person purely to identify the root of outward behavior. A coach does this only to a limited extent. The coach goes beyond by building a structure to ensure the transformation and success of the client. My thoughts.

Having done both therapy and coaching, as a client, I can say that the progress is more noticeable as I'm being coached than it was when I was in therapy. Of course, therapy helped me tremendously and got me to a place where coaching was the next logical step. When I heard about coaching I knew I wanted it, and after being coached for a few months, I knew I wanted to do it. It is about empowerment and taking responsibility for what one does - how great is that!
