Nobody can deny The Secret was a big success. Why do people still seem to have trouble making the Law of Attraction work for them? Most people are still missing one little factor in making it work for them: you attract what you focus on. So, if you are focusing on what you are lacking, you are drawing to you more of what you lack. It is very simple. Knock off the self pity
after 5 minutes. A very wise woman once told me I was allowed 15 minutes of complaining and feeling sorry for myself a day .
Forget about everything that you don’t have and be grateful for all that you do have. Stop repeating to yourself over and over what you can’t afford and what you are going without. You are just proving to yourself that the Law of Attraction really does work.
Negative thinking is a habit, a bad habit and one that you need to break to make the Law of Attraction work for you. Like any other bad habit, with a strong commitment and determination you can break the habit. Break the negative habit by becoming very aware of your thoughts. If you pay attention to your thoughts for a few days, you will begin to pick up every time a negative thought comes into your mind. When you become good at recognizing these thoughts, then it is time to start to change them. Also, pay attention to your feelings. They are a sure indicator of what you are thinking.
When you find yourself thinking something negative, stop and change the thought to the opposite of whatever it is. Concentrate on this positive thought for a moment and experience how it makes you feel. Eventually, this will become a new habit for you and soon you will automatically begin thinking more positives and less negatives.
But here’s the kicker. Our thoughts create our feelings. And we are generally actually addicted to our feelings. So our work is really cut out for us. But since life is a journey and a school, what’s the hurry? We’ll likely just come back and choose to do it all over again anyway.

Looks like you have changed your site! This is well needed. I constantly think about wanting my own successful business that will pay all my bills with room to travel, buy my needs and wants and my family needs and wants. But I am focusing on the fact that I don’t have that and each day I wake up I’m still wanting for that. So I’m going to change my thoughts thanks.
Yes, you’re so right. You can say “stop” each time you discover yourself having negative thoughts. The more you do that the more your self-esteem is growing. Self-esteem and self-consciousness are close together.
This is in perfect chord with the gratitude journal you suggested. I see now that I will achieve my goals if I am truly grateful for what i have. My feelings of self-worth are growing with the more insight I have. The more energy I put towards my focus the vibrations I am sending towards a positive change.

I am slowly reaping benefits of being extremely aware of my thoughts and feelings. By working through these negatives and consciously turning them into what I have learned and am grateful for, I am seeing my life turning around… Just recently, for example, I noticed that the loneliness I was experiencing with my new “empty nest” is fading just by experiencing new feelings of gratitude that my adult kids are all just fine where they are at and suddenly I am hearing from and seeing them more often – and amazingly, that my oldest who has lived out of state the past 4 years is now going to be transferred to a city within 2 hours from my home. The original transfer (she & her family are Navy) which would have put them in another state fell through and a rare opportunity in this state suddenly became available! I know this is no coincidence!
I love the fact that we can decide what the universe brings to us through our thinking alone! I haven’t even seen/read all of the Secret and I can truly say that the Law of Attraction seems to work! I only focused a bit on the Law of Attraction and how our thoughts influence our feelings and ultimately what happens in our life/what is handed to us. It sure is hard work trying to stay positive ALL the time, but the benefits sure out weigh all the hard work. And plus, without hard work we can’t be thankful for the present that the universe hands back to us.
