Personal Goal Setting – Concrete and Abstract

Goal setting is a powerful way to learn about yourself and what kind of visions you have for your future. What kind of life coaching would help you succeed in your goals depends on what you want to achieve, your perceived or real obstacles and your view of yourself as capable of success.

As you begin to set goals and achieve them, your confidence will grow and soon you will be able to accomplish any goal that you set your mind to. Beginning with your largest overall goals, continue to narrow down your goals to include all the smaller goals you would like to achieve on your way to the big stuff.

A life coach can be a great asset when it comes to goal setting. Life coaches specialize in helping people to set goals and plans to accomplish goals and work with you to support and motivate you to achieve your goals. Just like the coach of a football team or baseball team, the coach’s job is to keep you focused on what needs to be done. They help you keep your eye on the ball. Some life coaches excel in helping you accomplish concrete goals like raising your business’s income 30% by the end of the year. Others excel in helping you see your worthiness so long time hopes and dreams that you never seemed able to make happen, now do.

In your interviewing a life coach with the thought of hiring them, let them know where you feel stuck and see if you are a good fit – if they have the expertise and desire to work with your goals.

What a great observation Maia. I too am a coach in a coaching relationship with a friend/coach. I’ll have to keep this in mind.
